The 754th Cheam Charter Fair went off with a bang on Saturday.
The fair, which dates back to the time of Henry III, started with a procession including the mayor of Sutton, Sean Brennan, children from St Dunstan's School and the choir of St Dunstan's Church in the morning. They made their way to Park Road where there were 70 stalls.

Residents even prepared for the fair by a holding a big clean-up last Saturday and a celebration was held on Wednesday May 15 – the day the fair was traditionally supposed to be celebrated according to an ancient charter.

The fair dates back to 1259, when Henry III granted Cheam a charter making it a town.
