More than 300 employees from international company CEB closed their offices on Friday to help restore the ponds on a housing estate.
CEB partnered with volunteering charity TimeBank to aid the conservation project on the Edgecombe Hall Estate, Southfields after it was damaged by anti-social behaviour.
The company’s annual Global Volunteering Day this year coincided with Give and Gain Day, the UK’s national day of employee volunteering.
CEB closes its worldwide offices in 45 cities on May 17 every year for a day of community service.
Chief executive Tom Monahan made a special visit to the UK to help alongside TimeBank chief executive Helen Walker move and prepare soil and sow grass seeds and a wildflower meadow.
Putney MP Justine Greening also came along to lend a hand.
Ms Walker said: "We’re delighted that CEB chose us as its UK partner - we both believe that volunteering can be a real force for change and that through volunteering, employees develop valuable leadership, decision-making and negotiation skills while making a genuine difference in their communities."
