It is that time of year again when the borough's horticulturalists proudly prune their passifloras ahead of the Sutton in Bloom competition.

Sutton Council’s annual Sutton In Bloom competition is looking for the Best Front garden, Best Community Garden, Best Business Frontage, Best Allotment Garden and Best School Garden.

Judging will take place at the beginning of July and the winners will be invited to a lunch where they will be crowned.

The best of the entries will also represent Sutton in the London In Bloom competition.

Sean Duggan, editor of the Sutton Guardian, which sponsors and award, said: "A lot of people take a lot of pride in their gardens and Sutton In Bloom sets out to acknowledge the effort and commitment of those people who brighten up our borough.

The categories allow anyone interested in gardening to get involved and thanks to the support of local businesses Times Square Shopping Centre, The House of Flowers, Recognition Awards and Woodcote Green Garden Centre and Nurseries, there will be garden vouchers for the winners and runners-up in all categories."

The closing date for entries is June 21.

Entry forms can be obtained from your local library and a downloadable version is available on the Sutton Council website.
