A food hygiene worker has won a national business award which recognises employees who have made successful changes to a company.
Mehrdad Modarres, of Hatfield Crescent, Wimbledon is a financial controller for Food Alert, who specialise in food hygiene and health and safety solutions for the catering industry.
He won the Finance category for updating his company’s client invoicing system and was awarded a Microsoft Dynamics Change Ambassadors award at a special ceremony at the Landmark Hotel in London on Saturday.
Mr Modarres said: "Competition was very strong. Some of the UK’s largest companies sponsored several candidates and their achievements were exceptional.
"It is against that background that me and Food Alert emerged as winners.
"For me, this competition was about recognition. To have my achievement recognised by my peers in the finance world is the ultimate accolade."
A panel of experts from leading businesses judged the winners across five categories, who will have the chance to attend an executive seminar at the Cranfield School of Management.
