Steve Parish is happy to have seen Ian Holloway prove his critics wrong at Crystal Palace.

Holloway came under fire from a large section of fans when a nine-match winless run threatened to derail the Eagles’ play-off campaign.

Co-chairman Parish admitted he had a chat with him about what was going wrong before the game against Leicester on April 20.

Since then, the former Blackpool boss has won over the Palace faithful – particularly with his tactical masterplan that defeated Brighton in the semi-finals.

“We went on a bit of a run and Ian came in for some stick,” said Parish.

“Me and him had a chat with four games to go and since then we have been unbeaten in six.

“He changed one or two things and he has got the confidence that this is his team.

“I think that  the victory at Brighton has put everybody firmly in his camp.”
