A neighbour from hell has been evicted from his council flat and threatened with jail after subjecting residents to a sustained campaign of harassment and intimidation.

Farzad Moradifard was ordered to leave his flat Dunhill Point, Dilton Gardens, Roehampton, after a county court judge heard he had repeatedly threatened and intimidated people living in his neighbourhood.

The 43-year-old was responsible for hurling objects from his balcony, damaging other people’s property, swearing at and threatening people, noise nuisance and vandalising the lift in his block.

The prosecution was brought to court by Wandsworth Council, who also secured an injunction against Mr Moradifard, preventing him from returning to the area and causing more problems.

Councillor Paul Ellis, the council's housing spokesman, said: "We will not sit back and allow tenants who live in our properties to behave in an unacceptable way towards other residents.

"This individual has paid a heavy price for the despicable behaviour he’s displayed towards other people living in his neighbourhood.

"He has lost his council home and because he has been evicted for anti-social behaviour no other local council or housing association is likely to offer him new accommodation."

The judge granted the injunction containing an exclusion zone banning him from the area of Roehampton bordered by Alton Road to the north and east, Roehampton Lane to the west and Kingston Vale to the south.

If he breaches the terms of the injunction he could be held in contempt of court and face arrest with an immediate prison sentence likely to follow.
