Gym goers were evacuated from a leisure centre in Cheam after a tumble dryer caught fire last night.
A crew from Epsom fire station was called at about 7.30pm on May 24 to put out the small fire on the first floor of the David Lloyd Centre in Ewell Road, Cheam.
A spokesman for Epsom fire station said: “There were people in there who were evacuated but there were no injuries.
“It smoked the place out so it took a while to clear it.
“There was some damage to the surroundings but it was not long lasting.”
