Cadets from a Croydon school were saluted by Princess Anne at a memorial parade last week.
The combined cadet force cadets from the Royal Russell School in South Croydon headed to central London as part of the ninth annual cavalry memorial parade.
The cadets had breakfast and met World War II veterans before they headed to Hyde Park where they were briefed on their duties and saluted by HRH the Princess Royal.
For the second year running, a cadet carried the banner of the Indian Cavalry, which would otherwise be left in the garrison church at Bovington.
The honour fell to Year 11 student Lance Corporal Mitchell Farrington, who carried the banner in front of the assembled regiments and onlookers.
