Development charity Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) is set to move its international headquarters to Kingston.
The move will see some of the charity’s 200 staff work from home to save about £430,000, which it hopes will help pay for a project in South Sudan.
Workers will move from Putney into a 20,000-square-foot office space at 100 London Road, near Tiffin School, in June.
But they will make their first volunteering impact by taking part in a balsam-bash later this month – clearing invasive Himalayan balsam plants from Elmbridge Meadows in Berrylands.
VSO encourages people to give their time teaching or working in hospitals in some of the world's poorest countries.
