A charity football game raised £200 in memory of a policeman who died of pancreatic cancer.

Scott Allardyce died in January last year aged 34 after losing his 18-month battle against the disease.

Mr Allardyce's wife Nikki, a Sutton detective constable, was at the match, along with her son Jake, 5.

The game, between Sutton detectives and uniformed officers, took place a Sutton Football Club on Sunday 12 May and raised money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

The officers were playing for the ‘Allardyce Cup’ with the CID team led by Det Con Ian Griffith beating the uniform side led by PC Mark Towler by four goals to one.

More than 250 Metropolitan Police officers and staff paid their respects to the life of detective constable Scott Allardyce at his funeral at St Wilfrid’s Church, Haywards Heath, on 10 February 2012.

Mr Allardyce joined the MPS in March 2002 and served at Sutton and Belgravia police stations, and finally in Wandsworth Crime Squad.
