A man who died after being hit by a train is believed to be a missing man from Thornton Heath.
Neil Skipper was reported missing to Croydon police after leaving his home on Saturday evening.
Although formal identification has yet to take place, police believe Mr Skipper died after being hit by a train in the Putney area on the same day he went missing.
Police say his family have been informed.
Clair Norville, a work colleague, said: "May you rest in peace.
"We are all in shock and find it difficult to come to terms with. Will miss seeing you walking home from work and stopping to catch up for a chat.
"May your family and friends be comforted at this sad time."
