Girlguides were treated to a modern and vintage police display where they got the chance to see an armour-plated car used by Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister.
A group of five girls from the 1st Tattenhams Guide Group were among thousands of visitors to an open day at Sutton police station on Sunday, June 2.
The girls, who meet every Friday at St Mark’s Church, in Epsom Downs, had the chance to see police dog puppies, horses, the bomb squad, firearms officers, territorial support group equipment, traffic vehicles and a public order display.
They were also treated to some police history with officers wearing 1930s uniforms and vehicles from the Met's vintage display - which included a 3.5, V8, armour-plated Rover used by Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister.
