More than 50 teams will be battling it out on the Thames for the Dragon Boat race this summer.

This year a record breaking 54 teams will take to the river on Sunday, July 21 in attempt to beat last year’s £45,000 raised for charity.

Last year the annual event organised by the Kingston Rotary Club had to be rescheduled from July to September following bad weather.

Paul Hickson from the Kingston Rotary Club, said: "This is going to be the biggest one yet.

"This year we have 54 teams and with each team having the target of raising £1,000, we think we can raise more than £50,000 for charity."
