Bikers who ride through fire and a soprano on tour with Brit Award winners will be among the many attractions in Ashtead on Saturday.

Natalie Coyle, who is touring with vocal group Blake, will open the 30th Ashtead Village Day, which is expected to draw up to 10,000 people.

Stannage International Display Team will also hold crowds enthralled with their death-defying speed jumps and falls though fire and near-miss crashes.

Meanwhile families can have a ride on the Ferris wheel and listen to music from popular cover band Atlantis, the Mole Valley Silver Band and pop band Junction 9.

Keen cooks will be whipping out wooden spoons and bowls to wow judges at the first ever Great Ashtead Bake Off.

David Gillott, one of the judges and owner of Four Gables Food Academy, said: "It’s all about having fun and I’m looking forward to seeing - and tasting - the entries."
