A manager of a popular Kingston nightclub has been named regional manager of the year by the company that owns the venue.
Ian Hamilton, who runs The Hippodrome in St James Road, was given the award by the Luminar Group, which also manages Oceana in Clarence Street.
He was recognised for his efforts to enforce a zero tolerance policy on anti-social behaviour at a venue that attracts about 3,500 revellers a week.
Mr Hamilton, who has been in charge at the Hippodrome for the past three years, said: “It’s great to be recognised by your peers, but it’s even better to be seen to be delivering a great clubbing experience for our customers.
“This award is definitely a team effort and together we have worked really hard to ensure that we are one of the most popular clubs in Kingston.
“We have also focused on building relations and partnerships with the police, councillors and local residents to minimise disruption and bring vibrancy and employment to our town.”
