Collaboration between artists and pupils from several primary schools in Battersea has inspired an new art exhibition set to be unveiled.

Westbridge, St George’s, Christ Church CE and Falconbrook primary schools are all taking part in the upcoming exhibition ‘Delicious Monsters: Plants of the Imagination’ at the Pumphouse Gallery.

Since April the children and artists have been getting to work covering each floor of the Battersea Park-based gallery with individual environments inspired by the park.

A panel of judges will be asked to choose five of their favourite art works to receive a special prize.

In addition one school will be awarded an overall prize for the most striking contribution.

Wandsworth’s culture spokesman, Councillor Jonathan Cook, said: "This exhibition has provided a wonderful opportunity for local children to explore their creative sides in new ways.

"I hope they all enjoy the experience of having their work on display for all to see - and I hope many people grab the chance to see their different creations."
