An exhibition will look at the lives of travellers and gypsies.

It highlights some of the many stars with Traveller heritage, including Elvis Presley, Eric Cantona and Michael Caine, whilst offering an insight into how Traveller and Gypsy lives have changed over the centuries.

Featuring a range of high-quality photographs, the exhibition atthe Europa Gallery, Sutton, looks at the ordinary lives of people of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller heritage and also confronts some of the myths which surround them.

Councillor Graham Tope, vice-chairman of Sutton Council’s environment and neighbourhoods committee, said: "The exhibition is intended to raise awareness and it contains a lot of fascinating information and striking images."

The exhibition, organised by Sutton and Merton Traveller Education Service for Gypsy, Roma Traveller History Month, is at the Europa Gallery in Sutton Library until June 21.
