A boy has come up with the idea of doing a charity bike ride to the home of his grandad who is terminally ill with cancer.
Kai Braybrook, 9, from Tadworth, and his cousins will cycle 12 miles to his grandad’s home in Mitcham on June 15.
Kai, who goes to Tadworth Primary School, has already raised more than £300 to support the Royal Marsden, which is caring for Albert Foster, 78.
His mother Chrissie Boxell said: "We got some bad news about his grandad and he wanted to do it before he passed away.
"I think it has affected him more than we thought it would."
She said Kai came up with the idea of the bike ride on his own, adding: "I’m really proud of him."
On his JustGiving page, Kai said: "Thank you so much to everyone that has sponsored me so far, I'm halfway to reaching my target.
"It really means a lot to me as I'm doing this for my grandad."
Kai his cousins and accompanying adults will start the cycle ride at his home in Hatch Gardens, Tadworth.
