A TaeKwon-Do school is celebrating its 30th birthday this year.
Tooting TaeKwon-Do School, based in St Augustines Church hall, Broadwater Road, has seen 250 people earn a black belt since it was founded in 1983.
The school, which still runs in the same church hall, was opened by Master Sangha VII dan, who used to drive to the school every Monday and Thursday from Heathrow until 2010.
The reins were passed onto Michael Snelders, who took his first grading on the same night Tooting opened.
He said: "I'd never dreamed I'd be running one of the most established clubs in Britain, the high standards set by Master Sangha have meant they were very big boots to fill.
"I hope I can take the club to its 40th with as much enthusiasm."
