A new "consumer champion" for Lambeth's health and social care services launches next week.

Healthwatch Lambeth, which launches in Brixton on Wednesday, June 19, is an organisation independent of the NHS and is supposed to provide a voice for users of NHS and council services.

Part of its remit is to obtain the views of people about their needs for health and social care services and make those views known to those involved in the commissioning and provisioning and scrutiny of these services.

Speakers at next week's event include: Katherine Rake, Chief Executive, Healthwatch England, Healthwatch Member (tbc), Councillor Jim Dickson, Lambeth Council Cabinet Member for Healthwatch and Wellbeing, Dr Adrian McLachlan, Chair, Lambeth Clincial Commissioning Group.

Anyone who wishes to attend are advised to RSVP beforehand.

Healthwatch Lambeth is on Wednesday, June 19, 5pm - 7pm at Lambeth ACCORD, 336 Brixton Road, SW9 7AA. For more information call 020 7274 8522 or email: info@healthwatchlambeth.org.uk.
