Sutton has one of the lowest rates of premature deaths in the country - but it is one of the most expensive places in Britain for cremation costs.
New research shows Sutton has the 28th lowest premature death rate in the country with just 234 people out of every 100,000 dying under the age of 75.
But research also shows the borough is the ninth most expensive place to be cremated in the country with an average cost of £1,865.
A survey by Public Health England shows the worst premature death rate is in Manchester, with 455 people out of every 100,000 dying early and the best is in Wokingham in Berkshire where just 200 people out of every 100,000 die prematurely.
According to the information, Sutton is better than average in all the key factors affecting premature death rates - cancer, lung disease, heart disease and liver disease.
Meanwhile, research by the trade union GMB shows Sutton is the in the top ten most expensive places to be cremated in the country.
The average cost of £1,865 includes internment, cremation and a 60 year lease on a cemetery plot. Burial costs in Sutton are below the average at £2,475.
Croydon is among the most expensive places to die in the UK with an average cremation costing £2,265 and burials costing £4,106.
