Mitcham burst to life this weekend as thousands took part in its annual carnival.
Based on the theme, Living Mitcham, this year’s carnival saw hundreds of community groups, charities and organisations take part in a parade from Figges March to Three King’s Piece in Mitcham on Saturday, June 15.
Here the crowds were entertained by Inch Perfect, two young stunt motorbike riders, former X-Factor contestant Wagner, cheerleaders and stilt-walkers, as well as enjoying a fun fair and more than 100 stalls.
Councillor Geraldine Stanford said: “I want to say how well the participants in the parade, the performers, stall holders and volunteers persisted in spite of the weather.
"Also, congratulations to the Blue Starz Cheerleaders who won best entry in the parade.”
Councillor Ian Munn said: “Even though it rained, those in the parade shrugged their shoulders and carried on.
"A big thank you must go to all involved in the carnival this year."
