A group of Palace fans are putting club rivalry aside to raise money for charity later this year.

Members of the Five Year Plan Fanzine will be cycling from Selhurst Park to Brighton’s Amex Stadium on September 29.

The cycle ride is in aid of the Robert Eaton Memorial Fund, which was a charity set up after Brighton fan Robert was killed in 9/11.

The charity gives money to underprivileged kids in America, England and Africa to play football.

There is already a yearly football match between Brighton and Palace fans to raise money for the charity.

James Daly, editor of the fanzine, said: “I am very proud to have been involved with the REMF fund for over a decade. Since it was formed in 2001 it's raised more than £125,000 for underprivileged children and that's wonderful.

"Obviously it's a Brighton charity run by some great lads from down south but we never stop in reminding them who is the bigger club, and us FYP boys will be decked in red and blue for the bike ride in September.

"I haven't ridden in years so might need someone in a car alongside me like they do in the Tour de France. I also need a bike.”

"I’m sure it will be a great day, and hopefully we'll raise lots of money and again show the world that fans of two teams who don't like each other can come together to raise money for something much more important than football."
