Bar owners risk losing their licence if they fail to cut back on noise.

Neighbours have complained of noisy music coming from the bar in Honey & Venom, Trinity Road, Tooting.

A Wandsworth council licensing sub-committee heard people living in the area were kept up until 1am at weekends and midnight during the week.

Councillors also heard the town hall's noise patrol were formally investigating two complaints.

Bar owners were ordered to turn the music off at 11pm in the week and midnight at weekends.

A sound limiting device must also be fitted to music equipment to make sure volumes do not exceed a reasonable level.

They were warned if the noise problems persist the bar could be stripped of its license altogether.

Councillor Martin Johnson, chairman of the sub-committee, said: "From the evidence we heard it was clear that the premises were causing a noise nuisance to people living nearby.

"As a result we have taken steps to curb that nuisance. The bar must switch the music off earlier each evening and the owners must also fit a sound limiting device to ensure that the music does not cause problems during the times it is permitted to be played.

"If the problems persist then the council will no doubt consider further action."
