A woman from Kingston has been killed in a car crash in East Sussex over the weekend.
The accident happened at 8am on Saturday, at the Blackdown roundabouton on the A22 near Uckfield, when the grey Ford Mondeo estate she was travelling in collided with a Ford Transit van.
The Mondeo then collided with a silver Mercedes.
The 59-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mondeo driver, a 64-year-old man also from Kingston, is in hospital in a serious condition.
The people travelling in the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed until 3.30pm on Saturday.
Sussex Police confirmed both passengers were from Kingston, adding the woman had not yet been formally identified.
Sergeant Dan Pitcher,from East Sussex Road Policing, said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family of the deceased.
"I would ask that anyone who may have seen the collision to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Ankara or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk."
