A fitness coach who helped the Dons to their 1988 FA cup triumph and worked with paralympic legend David Weir is helping inspire the sporting stars of tomorrow.
Jenny Archer, a fitness coach with Wimbledon FC in the 1980s - spoke to pupils from Perseid, Abbotsbury, St Teresa’s and Malmesbury primary schools at Perseid primary school in Middleton Road, Morden on June 12.
Children enjoyed a fun-filled day of bowling, throwing and racket and tennis ball races.
Perseid’s Headteacher Tina Harvey said: "Our annual cluster sports event is a great opportunity for our pupils to learn to work together as a community whilst also having fun".
Merton’s cabinet member for children’s services Councillor Maxi Martin said: "It is great that children from the St Helier Cluster schools got to meet an inspirational coach and enjoy a sports filled day."
