Businesses in Wandsworth are about to learn how they can become part of the £10bn Nine Elms development.

Supply Nine Elms, organised by the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce (WCC), will allow the borough’s business owners to mingle with representatives from the major companies involved in the Nine Elms development.

Key Nine Elms stakeholders, including chief executives, senior council officers, developers, contractors and procurement professionals.

Up to 200 businesses are expected to attend.

Alastair Alexander, chief executive of WCC, said: “This is the year when things are going to start moving quickly.

“Carillon, the principle constructor at Battersea power station, will be there, as well as Vinchy and a number of other major companies.

“A range of contracts are available, including catering, electrical, kitchen suppliers, security and construction specialists, so it is really worth getting on board and seeing what the development has to offer.

“There is a stringent procurement process that involves a lot of documentation and may well put some people off, but through the Chamber of Commerce we can help businesses take the plunge by making them tender-ready.

“An organisation called Bidperfect will be available to help interested parties through the tricky tendering process.”

Guest speakers will discuss a range of issues including tips on securing tenders, Nine Elms business opportunities and support and advice to improve your pitch.

The event will be held at the View, Battersea power station, Gate 2, 188 Kirtling Street, London SW8 5BN, on July 10 from 6.30pm to 9pm and July 11 from 7.30am to 9.30am.

The event is free, but places are at a premium so registration is required.
