An international development charity celebrated moving its global headquarters to Kingston by helping clear up an overgrown green space.
More than 60 staff and volunteers from VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) spent the day removing Himalayan balsam, an invasive weed, from Elmbridge Meadows in Berrylands.
The day was to mark the organisation’s move from Putney to a 20,000sq ft office in London Road, Kingston.
The move will see some of the charity’s 200 staff work from home to save about £430,000, which it hopes will help pay for a project in south Sudan.
