Recently I read an article in the Croydon Guardian regarding Spring Lane Bridge and the required strengthening works. As chairman of a local residents’ association, I know how much of a negative impact this has had for many local residents, who constantly raise this issue with me.
After much discussion, I believe that the owners have been confirmed as Network Rail (rather than Tfl as previously believed). Why it has taken so long to conclude this, I don't know.
On the positive side however, both companies are now working together which means that all the investigation and planning work already carried out by Tfl can be utilised rather than wasted.
I believe that both companies are to confirm a scope and timescale for the works very shortly and as someone who spends my time supporting the people of Addiscombe, I sincerely hope that the necessary works will be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible so that things can return to normal.
Best regards,
