Detectives are hunting for burglars who stole designer sunglasses and glasses worth many thousands of pounds.

Burglars broke into Ashtead Eye Clinic, in The Street, and damaged a window sometime between Saturday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 18.

The stolen sunglasses and glasses are understood to be worth between £9,600 and £19,600.

Detective Constable Errol Chetty, said: "I would appeal to anyone who either witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident or in the days prior to it taking place to provide us with information.

"I believe this was a targeted and planned burglary with the offenders likely to have visited the area before committing the offence.

"I would ask anyone who has been offered any designer glasses or sunglasses for sale at a low price which they believe may be stolen to contact officers with information."
