A fugitive was caught jumping over garden fences by a police helicopter this morning.
The 19-year-old, who was wanted after breaching conditions of his licence, had tried to flee when police called at a house in Peterborough Road, Carshalton, near Mitcham, at 9.30am.
As officers arrived at the address, a resident called the police and alerted them to the man trying to escape.
The police helicopter spotted a man in a garden and he was detained moments later in Peterborough Road, where officers had been called to arrest him at his girlfriend's address.
The man is now being questioned at a South London police station.
