A Crystal Palace legend shaved off his tash for charity at the weekend.

Ex-Palace winger Eddie McGoldrick, whose moustache was infamous in his playing days, was at the Whitehorse Pub on Saturday for their Armed Forces Day event.

McGoldrick, who played for Palace in the 1990 FA Cup Final, raised more than £550 for Help for Heroes on his Just Giving by growing back the famous facial hair, for it then to be shaved off.

More donations were given to Mr McGoldrick on the day.

The event, organised by Danny Foley of the Whitehorse Pub, was attended by members of the armed forces past and present.

Mr Foley said: "The event went really well, Eddie raised a lot of money for charity and we gave away 48 free pints to serving or ex-service personnel."

Those attending the event were asked to were something forces related to show support to the troops.
