A boutique cinema, penthouse apartments, restaurant and heritage centre could all be features of the revamped Gala Bingo hall in Kingston.

CNM Estates, which owns the vacant Grade II-listed building, held a two-day exhibition at Tiffin School outlining the company's latest proposals for the Richmond Road site.

New drawings showed the proposed revamp to the outside of the building, which includes glass fronted apartments on the roof, with the word "Regal" emblazoned below - a nod to the building's original guise as the Regal Cinema.

Some of the other proposed uses include a boutique cinema, restaurant, children’s play and education centre and a Heritage Display area.

CNM Estates director Wahid Samady said: "CNM Estates have widely consulted with neighbours, resident associations, potential users and businesses regarding the future of the Kingston Gala building.

"This process has included the community design meeting held at Tiffin School in March.

"At this event, more than 120 residents had the opportunity to view the interior and then offer their opinions on the possible futures for the building.

"Many of these ideas have been refined and subsequently CNM Estates exhibited their latest suggestions to the community last week.

"CNM Estates are delighted by the response received and would like to take this opportunity to thank the community, and all that have been involved, in developing the design and concepts for this exciting new scheme."
