Police have arrested a suspect earlier this evening after a stabbing in New Malden.
A Metropolitan Police helicopter assisted in the search for a person, alleged to have been involved in a stabbing in Connaught Road.
On Twitter Aurencear said at 9.12pm: "The cops are chasing someone around my bit of new malden.
"Coptor [sic} overhead and roads clogged with flashing lighted cars."
The stabbing is reported to have happened at the Kentucky Fried Chicken takeaway shop in the High Street.
Kaydeelomonaidy tweeted: "Just saw someone get stabbed in New Malden, all I wanted was KFC."
The MPS helicopter tweeted: Re the search in New Malden, we can confirm that the suspect has been arrested."
Police were reported to have been searching underneath a train at New Malden train station.
South West Trains tweeted: "Delays through New Malden towards Kingston/Surbiton due to a police incident on train in front."
