As temperatures continue to soar, Sutton Council is warning people to make sure they are careful while enjoying the borough's outdoor spaces.

The council has advised people wear sun block, keep cold drinks to hand, stay out of the sun as often as possible and wear loose clothes, hats and sunglasses.

Temperatures in Sutton are set to get as high as 30 degrees Celsius this week with no sign of the heatwave disappearing despite a few more clouds in tomorrow's forecast.

Council leader Councillor Ruth Dombey said: "It is vital for the public to look out for one another and keep aware of the rising temperatures this summer.

"Necessary precautions should be taken so that people can still enjoy what Sutton has to offer.

"Although it is important to stay safe in the sun, we wish for everyone to enjoy this hot weather while it lasts."
