A seminar examining the Suffragette movement is to be held at Bourne Hall.

The museum, in Spring Street, Ewell, is to host the day-long event, "celebrating the history of women’s suffrage", which will include a look at the life of Emily Davison, the suffragette who was killed after running out in front of the King’s horse at the 1913 Epsom Derby.

The event will include talks from a number of specialists in the field, including Kathy Atherton, Australian MP Frances Bedford, Colin Cartwright, Irene Cockcroft and Helen Pankhurst.

Visitors will also have the chance to view the Dying for the Vote exhibition at the museum on Davison and the Suffragette movement in Surrey.
