A doctor accused of abducting her daughter two years ago, has breached a court order, a tribunal has ruled.

Dr Humma Dar fled from her home in Camborne Road, Morden, to Pakistan with her daughter Aamina following her marriage break-up.

Her ex-husband Dr Safraz Khan, from Ballards Way, Croydon, was granted custody of Aamina, eight, following a lengthy custody battle that allowed his wife to see their daughter three weekends a month.

But after agreeing to let Aamina visit her mother for a longer period over the summer holiday, they suddenly disappeared and her car was missing.

The panel at a fitness to practise hearing found the allegation proved and will now consider whether Dr Dar's fitness to practise is impaired by her actions.

Dr Dar, who failed to attend and was not represented at the hearing in Manchester, could be struck off the medical register.

The mother and daughter are known by the Home Office to have travelled to Pakistan via Abu Dhabi.

Dr Dar could be struck off if the panel decide her fitness to practise is impaired by her misconduct.

The hearing in Manchester is expected to last a week.
