On Saturday the Clapham Leaf Club (Venn Street Market's very own food growing project with the local primary schools) celebrated its second year with amazing results!

This year Allen Edwards Primary excelled in offering a specialist potato stall and sold out in time for ice-cream!

The pupils of Clapham Manor Primary made scrumptious Chocolate Beetroot Brownies (with the huge help of chef Sylvain Jamois aka Undercover Kitchen and parent) from the produce grown at the School and Larkhall Primary sold a variety of summer flowers and hanging baskets!

With record breaking sales, with the help from our generous customers, all schools made a significant profit which will go back towards each schools' activities programme.

Clapham Leaf Club is a project designed to enable pupils of the Clapham and Larkhall Collaborative primary schools (Allen Edwards, Clapham Manor, Heathbrook, Larkhall, Macaulay CE) to learn all aspect of growing their own food from preparing the soil using organic matter, to sowing seeds and culturing their crops which will then be harvested and sold as fruit and vegetables of used in a cuisine and cooked and sold at the Market every year in July.
