A poet who worked in Croydon for more than 10 years has released a book of his rhymes.
Mark Day - who has called himself The Bard of Godstone - has just released his first book The Bard of Godstone Volume 1.
He describes himself as the modern rhyming bard, and "if he sees it he will rhyme it."
Day adds: "The trick is to be natural. We all have our own style, mine is succinct, with witty punch lines on the whole.
"Enjoy it, it is personal and can be looked back on fondly in years to come. Let it flow."

Mr Day has promised to pen a number of poems about Croydon for his second volume.
Anyone with suggestions to send them to the Croydon Guardian at abloss@london.newsquest.co.uk.
