Clapham Chasers sent a team of 9 Triathletes to the Challenge Roth Ironman triathlon in Bavaria, Germany last weekend ( 14th ) and returned with a fantastic win in the Womens team competition from Lucie Custance, Fiona Love & Katrina Marshall.
On a course consisting of a 3.8kilometre swim, followed by a 180km bike ride & a full Marathon run of 42.2km the girls finished 30 minutes clear of their German rivals in 2nd place.
With two German clubs, as well as Thames Turbo Tri Club & Serpentine RC from London in their wake, the girls all managed times of close to 3hr 30mins for the full Marathon run of 26m to draw well clear of the chasing pack. Alan Scott was top Chaser male with an excellent sub 10hr clocking.
That's two international podium places this summer for the Chaser girls, following Lucie's second place at the Lisbon Triathlon in May.
