Page fifty nine of last weeks Sutton Guardian (July 11th) carried a public notice from The London Borough of Sutton about an increase in the costs of residents parking permits , the latest hike is some ten per cent whacked on top of the already costly permits.
The Conservative team at Sutton Council voted against this stealth tax at the time but as Lib Dem councillors outnumber the Conservatives by some four to one the odds of common sense prevailing are stacked against the taxpayer.
I am fed up with seeing residents predated upon to raise extra revenue for this wasteful council.
I urge all residents within the parking zones to lodge their objection to this inflation busting ten per cent hike in charges to me and I will see your views are submitted by the cut off date of 1st August.
