A water main and sewer collapsed causing chaos in a road.
Firefighters were called to Elspeth Road, Battersea, on Monday at 5.15pm, but Thames Water are still at the scene.
The water utility company discovered there was a burst on a 16-inch water main which was soon repaired.
However, during the work it was discovered a sewer on the same road had also collapsed.
A spokesman for Thames Water said: "We will remain on site to finish this essential work as soon as possible."
