It might be a little early for Valentine's Day but residents have been presented with bright red flowers.

Sutton Council has ordered four pots of beautiful flowers to add to the full flourish of summer.

The plant pots are on Trinity Square in Sutton High Street after arriving on Monday, July 15, and the flowers have been a glamorous talking point for the community.

Many have commented on the eye-catching display.

Simona Jipa, said: "When I came to sit down I noticed them straight away, they are very very nice."

Another lady, Dorinne Wenman, said that the flowers were "very lovely" and how the council "should keep it up" and continue to make the high street look nicer.

Councillor Jill Whitehead, chairwoman of the environment and neighbourhood committee said: "The flowers brighten up the high street making it very appealing to the community.

"We think the bright red flowers will attract many shoppers in the current sunny weather."

The work had been carried out in conjunction with the successful Sutton Business Improvement District (BID).
