Firefighters have been forced to tackle a spate of grass fires at Shirley Hills during the recent heatwave.
A crew from New Addington used water-filled backpacks to extinguish two small blazes last night, one at 6.30pm and another at 8.30pm.
Officers urged people to discard cigarettes and barbecues carefully to avoid sparking fires on dry grass.
