A 22-year-old man was arrested this morning after police raided a suspected cannabis factory in Selhurst.

Officers from Selhurst Safer Neighbourhoods Team executed a drugs search warrant at the property in Selhurst Road, at about 8am.

A search of the property uncovered a number of cannabis plants growing.

The man, who was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis, has been bailed to return to a south London police station on September 6 pending forensic examination of the seized plants.

Sergeant Kenny Parker, from the Selhurst Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: "This warrant was part of our ongoing efforts to tackle local drug use and supply in our neighbourhoods.

"The presence of drugs in a community can lead to other associated crime and antisocial behaviour, so we would encourage our local residents to keep on telling us if they suspect drugs are being used, stored or grown so that we can take action to deal with it."
