Feeling hot, hot, hot –We have all sung the lyrics or heard them played on the radio.

Yes it is baking out there and we have certainly enjoyed basking in the sun this week.

It has been incredible and the children have loved it. Don’t get me wrong I have loved it too, but it is totally different when you are running up and down stairs looking after two children under 18 months old – I have been “glowing” the entire time.

So with the sun having his hat on, there is a whole new list of things you have to be aware of and remember when going out.

I had to dig the sun cream out from the back of the cupboard and have regularly had to smother it all over my little boy which he does not mind at all, he has even started to put it all over me too.

He has also begun wearing Michael’s sunglasses and looks rather cool, even if I say so myself.

On Sunday we had nip to the shops to buy a few summer garments as we simply were not prepared for this heat wave, so legs have been out (including Michael) and there has been fun moments in the garden and later we are off to buy a paddling pool – more for my benefit than my sons’.

We may even have to splurge out on a barbecue too as I am fed up of smelling the delights wafting over from the neighbours back yard.

We have also had to make sure the baby does not overheat too, but to be honest, neither of them have been phased by the higher temperatures, which bodes well for future beach holidays.

In the meantime we will make do with long walks in Richmond Park, running around Ham Common and grabbing a cheeky Mr Whippy along the way.
