Just recently Epsom Council removed the shrubs/established hedges at the junction by Riverholme Drive/Chessington Road, Ewell, and replaced it with some new split post and rail fencing and new shrubs.
A few months later the new shrubs have been removed to make way for a new crossing that is being put in place
Surely with planning etc, why were the man hours wasted to remove the original shrubs/hedging for the fence and new shrubs and then for the new shrubs to be removed due to the new crossing.
Times are hard for many households now and we pay high council taxes. With better planning and thinking, this could all have been completed in one go. And what happened to the new shrubs? Shrubs aren't cheap these days.
Also with the new crossing does that now mean more delays in Chessington Road? A zebra crossing would have been sufficient and cheaper.
