Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an elderly man was robbed in New Addington.
The incident happened close to Chertsey Crescent at about 9.40pm on Monday, June 24.
The victim- a man in his 80s was walking in an alleyway by flats in Chertsey Crescent, having just left a betting shop in Central Parade.
He was approached by a white male, who demanded he give him his money.
The suspect is said to have then grabbed the victim and pulled him to the floor before stealing his wallet containing £30 cash from his pocket.
He then made off in the direction of Central Parade. The suspect is described as 5ft 7ins, with short hair and of medium build.
Detectives are also keen to identify a man who they believe was in the area around that time wearing a dark-coloured jacket with a logo on the top-right rear of the jacket, who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
Detective Constable Aaron Hobbs, from Croydon police, said: “If you were on Central Parade around that time, then you may have seen something that could help us identify the suspect, so please come forward.
“The victim in this case is very elderly and vulnerable and this has had a really big impact upon him.
"We are determined to identify who carried out this robbery, but need your help to do so.”
