Scottish indie giants Franz Ferdinand are the latest musical superstars to head to Kingston for a small, intimate gig.

The Glasgow four-piece, whose hits include Take Me Out, Do You Want To and No You Girls, will be playing an album release show at McClusky’s nightclub on Thursday, August 29.

The gig comes in the same week the band’s fourth studio album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action hits the shelves.

Named after the Austrian Archduke whose assassination by Gavrilo Princip sparked the beginnings of World War One, Franz Ferdinand will be appearing in Kingston as part of Banquet Records’ weekly New Slang night.

Tickets plus a CD of the new album costs £9.

Banquet manger Jon Tolley said: “We're delighted to welcome one of the UK's finest bands to Kingston.

“The post-punk indie heroes, who've headlined festivals, won Brit, Mercury and NME awards, and most importantly are such a brilliant band, are back with new album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.

“Cannot wait to see them, cannot wait to get the album. You can do both for £9.”

The night continues as always after the bands, with DJs playing some favourite indie floor fillers until 2am.

Entry to to the club night is £4/£5.
