A 45-year-old man was pushed off a train and onto the platform at Whitton station last month.

British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the attack which took place in the late hours of Friday, July 5, and early hours of Saturday, July 6.

Investigators have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident as part of their enquiries.

Police Constable Anna Chapman, the investigating officer, said: “The victim, a 45-year-old man from Feltham, was travelling on the 11.30pm Waterloo to Feltham service, standing by the doors.

“When the train arrived at Whitton station, around 12.10am a man pushed the victim off the train and onto the platform.

“The assault continued at the station, when the man pushed the victim against a wall, swearing at him.”

The man is thought to have an Australian or New Zealand accent.

PC Chapman said: “This appears to be a completely unprovoked attack on the victim, who sustained an injury to his knee as a result.

“I would ask anyone with information, or anyone who recognises the man in the picture to contact us.”
